Ingredients:
- 4 filet mignon steaks about 6 ounces each
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup whiskey
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
Instructions:
On both sides, season the filet mignon steaks with salt and pepper
Warm up the olive oil in a big pan over medium-high heat
When you add the steaks, cook until theyre done the way you like them about 4 to 5 minutes per side for medium-rare
Take the steaks out of the pan and set them on a plate to rest
Put garlic and mushrooms in the same pan
Take about 5 minutes to cook the mushrooms until they turn golden brown
Use whiskey to clear out the pan and scrape up any browned bits on the bottom
Add the beef broth and let it cook for about 5 minutes, or until its almost half gone
Add butter and stir until it melts and the sauce gets thicker
Put the steaks back in the pan and cover them with the sauce
Add chopped parsley as a garnish before serving
